Hollywood Liberal Rob Reiner Attacks Trump And Conservative Christians – ‘Poisoning Christianity’
The radically liberal Hollywood star Rob Reiner launched a truly vile attack on Donald Trump and conservative Christians yesterday, accusing the former president of being a “mouthpiece” for the Christian nationalist movement.
Reiner Rants Against Conservative Christians
Reiner, 76, went on MSNBC on Monday to promote his new documentary God & Country, which “looks at the implications of Christian Nationalism and how it distorts not only the constitutional republic, but Christianity itself,” according to IMDB.
It didn’t take long for this appearance to devolve into Reiner ranting against Trump and conservative Christians like the hateful leftist that he is, however.
“They’re not right-wing, they’re not left wing, they’re not anything except Donald Trump,” Reiner told host Ari Melber. “There are very conservative Christian evangelicals, pastors, very respected people in the Christian community, that are frightened of this Christian nationalist movement.”
“They are not only frightened about it hurting democracy, but Christianity itself,” he continued. “And we show in the film that this movement was the foundation for January 6. They were the moving elements that made January 6 and the insurrection happened. Now, we have a Speaker of the House who is an avowed Christian nationalist.”
Reiner Bashes Trump
That’s when Reiner zeroed in on bashing Trump, which is one of his favorite past-times.
“Donald Trump is more than happy to be there mouthpiece. We see this connection,” he claimed. “We can slip into an autocracy very easily. You hear this all the time on your show and many other shows, but the fight right now as between whether or not we preserve our democracy or we slip into a theocratic autocracy.”
“That’s what this movement wants. They believe that this is a white Christian nation. That’s what it should be. And that’s what we bring out in the film. And they’re not only poisoning democracy, they’re also poisoning Christianity,” Reiner concluded. “This is not a religious movement. this is a political movement that is after sheer power. That’s the fear that they have this mouthpiece, and he is going to ride this or he’s going to try to ride this all the way to the White House.”
Reiner’s Previous Comments
While promoting his new documentary, Reiner has been shamelessly attacking conservative Christians like it’s his job, with no jab being too below the belt for him. .
“This movement that they have here seems completely antithetical to the teachings of Jesus,” Reiner told Newsweek last week.
“Jesus was about peace and love and helping thy neighbor and those less fortunate than ourselves,” he continued. “And I thought that was something that we should all aspire to. So to me this movement is going totally opposite the teachings of Jesus.”
Reiner went on to blame “Christian nationalism” for the January 6 Capitol riot. .
“The Christian nationalist movement… it says that it’s my way or the highway and will resort to violence if we don’t get our way, which is what we saw happening on January 6,” he said.
Reiner unsurprisingly also used this interview to attack the former President Donald Trump.
“I can criticize [Donald] Trump because he’s the one who’s roping these people into this thinking,” he said. “Trump is a cult, and people who follow the cult are vulnerable. They’re looking for meaning, they’re looking for a direction, and you can get swept up in something [like that].”
Reiner has long been one of the most shameless and ignorant liberals in Hollywood, and he’s only gotten worse with age. His attacks on Christians are nothing short of bigoted, and it’s disgraceful that Hollywood continues to give him a platform to launch them.
