Popular Conservative ‘Catturd’ Predicts Mitch McConnell Will Try To Take Down Trump
Right-wing commentator “Catturd,” once described by Newsweek as the “king of MAGA” social media accounts, railed against Mitch McConnell following the Senate Minority Leader’s announcement that he would be stepping down.
The popular conservative account on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, was rather blunt in his assessment of McConnell’s work over the last few years and made a prediction that he wasn’t done.
He believes McConnell will – from here on out – make it his mission to take down Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and the America First movement in general.
“One of the biggest reasons our country has gone to hell is this POS war pig,” Catturd opines. “He’ll spend the next nine months trying to burn down America first Republicans and funding every war for his donors.”
“100% guaranteed,” he predicted.

Catturd Puts McConnell In A Deep Freeze With His Prediction
As to Catturd’s “war pig” reference – It’s not exactly a mystery as to where Mitch McConnell’s loyalties have lied in the past two years. Almost exactly two years, actually, since Russia invaded Ukraine.
Funding the war effort in Ukraine has been his top priority, period, end of story, since that time.
He said as much in an interview with Fox News host Dana Perino in which he suggested that he would focus his time on “explain(ing) to the American people that defeating the Russians in Ukraine is the single most important event going on in the world right now.”

Earlier this week, in negotiating a massive Senate foreign aid bill, McConnell joined New York Democrats Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries in their efforts to abandon the American people and their desire for a secure border.
McConnell told House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to “put the border aside” because “the Senate’s foreign aid bill is the only game in town.”
Put the American people aside, because foreign aid is the only game in town. In other words, as Catturd states, a war pig.
Republicans Love To Torch Their Morals On The Way Out The Door
There is also a rich history of Republican congressional figures willing to torch their own morals and beliefs out the door for two significant reasons – their disdain for Trump, and the spine they finally grew because they are leaving.
We saw one such example with Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) who served as a key negotiator for a $1.7 trillion spending bill in December of 2022 that was championed by President Joe Biden because, as the Washington Post pointed out, it included “funding for key elements” of his “economic agenda.”
McConnell and Shelby helped rush the spending bill through as a means to curtail the power of the purse for incoming Republicans as the GOP was set to take back the House at the time.
Just this week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton won a case after a court ruled that the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package was unlawfully passed by the House without a quorum physically present as constitutionally required.
They skirted the Constitution and robbed Republicans of the ability to reign in President Biden all because they believed the lawmakers that the American people voted into office were too extreme, or rather, too America First.
After news of his retirement in 2021, Senator Pat Toomey (PA), a former “Tea Party Caucus” guy, voted along with Democrats to affirm that the impeachment trial for former President Trump was constitutional.
And how many times have we watched Senator Mitt Romney, who has announced he will not seek re-election, and former GOP backbenchers Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney willing to torch the American people on their way out simply because Trump is super mean?

Catturd is right: McConnell has been signaling extensively that he will follow these other squishy Republicans in an effort to destroy Trump now that he is fully unshackled by the burdens of another term in the Senate.
McConnell will abandon every conservative principle that marked an extensive career. The only thing he will most certainly stand for is funding foreign war efforts and continuing to put Ukraine and Israel first.
