Mark Wahlberg Calls On People To Pray In Powerful Super Bowl Ad – ‘Stay Prayed Up’
During last night’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, the Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg appeared in a powerful ad in which he encouraged people to pray.
Wahlberg’s Super Bowl Ad
People Magazine reported that during the Super Bowl, Wahlberg starred in a commercial for Hallow, a Catholic app for prayer, meditation, music and sleep. He appeared in the ad along with the actor Jonathan Roumie, who is known for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in TBN’s “The Chosen” series.
Wahlberg, 52, begins the ad in a church, where he blesses himself before starting to pray as he sits in a pew, according to Daily Mail.
“God, we take this moment just to give you thanks. We thank you for this time to come together as a family, as friends, and as a country,” Wahlberg can be heard saying.
“Help us Lord, especially this Lent, to grow closer to you. Amen,” he continues. “Join us in prayer this Lent on Hallow. Stay prayed up.”
As Wahlberg speaks, the commercial shows a family praying around a table, a crowd cheering at a sporting event, and servicemen and women kneeling in prayer. A priest can then be seen placing ashes on the head of Roumie, who has his eyes closed and appears to look serene.

Hallow App
The Hallow app reportedly offers prayer-on-the-go and provides users with the opportunity to personalize their prayer experience through a custom-tailored daily prayer routine. The app allows users to “connect with friends and family” and build “custom family groups.”
“The goal at Hallow has always been to reach out to as many folks as possible, both those who take their faith seriously and especially those who might have fallen away, and invite them deeper into a relationship with God,” Alex Jones, Hallow co-founder and CEO, told The New York Post.
“When we learned about the timing of the Big Game this year, we couldn’t have been more excited to work with Mark and Jonathan to use it as an opportunity to invite millions into prayer,” he continued.

Wahlberg’s Christian Faith
Wahlberg has long been open about his strong Christian faith.
“It’s a balance. I don’t want to jam it down anybody’s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That’s an even bigger sin,” Wahlberg said last year.
“You know, it’s not popular in my industry, but I cannot deny my faith. It’s important for me to share that with people,” he continued. “But, I have friends from all walks of life and all different types of faiths and religions, so it’s important to respect and honor them as well.”
As for what his faith means to him, Wahlberg said, “It’s everything, it’s afforded me so many things.”
“God didn’t come to save the saints, he came to save the sinners,” he concluded. “We’ve all had issues in our lives and we want to be better versions of ourselves, and through focusing on my faith, it’s allowed me to do that.”

Wahlberg has long been one of the only openly Christian stars in Hollywood, and we applaud him for continuing to use his platform to spread the word of God. What do you think about Wahlberg’s Super Bowl commercial? Let us know in the comments section.
