GOP Rep Claudia Tenney Formally Requests AG Garland Pursue 25th Amendment Against Biden, Senator Josh Hawley Calls On Democrats To Do The ‘Patriotic’ Thing
Senator Josh Hawley joined a chorus of Republicans calling on Democrats to do the “patriotic” thing by invoking the 25th amendment against President Joe Biden following Rep. Claudia Tenney’s formal request for the Attorney General to explore the option.
To nobody’s surprise, Biden’s Democrat colleagues have gone silent on invoking an amendment they often cited as a means to remove former President Donald Trump from the White House.
Concerns were raised to a heightened level regarding President Biden’s mental acuity following the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s damning report outlining his mishandling of classified documents.
The report indicated Biden won’t be charged in the matter because he’s a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” and it would be difficult to get a jury to convict somebody that feeble.
According to the report, Biden “did not remember when he was vice president” or “when his son Beau died,” and exhibited “diminished faculties” and “significant limitations” during his interview with the special counsel.
Tenney (R-NY) was the first to sound the alarm in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland obtained by Fox News.
Tenney described Hur’s reasoning for not charging Biden in the classified documents case as “alarming” and noted that if the President is not “mentally competent to stand trial,” then he “most seemingly lacks the ability to execute his presidential responsibilities.”
Republicans Demand 25th Amendment Invoked Against Biden
Aside from the damning special counsel report indicating Biden’s mental faculties are too diminished to convict him in a trial despite having “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials,” the President has been publicly engaging in disturbing mental lapses with increasing regularity.
Biden twice claimed to have spoken with former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, who died in 2017, about the January 6th riot at the Capitol in 2021, and insisted that he had spoken with former French President François Mitterrand who died in 1996.
Biden then angrily confronted the media about his memory issues saying, “I know what the hell I’m doing,” before promptly referring to Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi as the “president of Mexico” and declaring he is a leader of both red and “green states.”
That was all just this week.
And with that body of work, Republicans have demanded invocation of the 25th amendment for President Biden.
“Biden is either mentally capable to stand trial & should be charged for mishandling classified documents as Vice President OR he is unfit to serve as President,” Tenney wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “There is no middle ground.”
Representative Mary Miller (R-IL) concurs.
“For the safety of our nation, Joe Biden must resign. He could not remember basic facts about his life. He is not competent to remain as Commander-in-Chief & every day that he remains, he puts America at risk,” she wrote. “If he won’t resign, the Cabinet must invoke the 25th Amendment.”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) suggested that Biden’s “mental decline is so severe that he can not stand trial means he is unfit for office.”
“We must demand either the 25th amendment be invoked or impeachment,” she added.
Joe Biden isn’t capable to stand trial for all of the classified documents he stole after leaving office as a Senator and VP, yet he’s capable of carrying around the nuclear football?

Hawley To Democrats – Do The Patriotic Thing
Senator Hawley, in a nod to the fact that Democrats who once preached about the 25th amendment during President Trump’s term have suddenly gone quiet, urged them to finally take a stand on the obvious elder abuse taking place on the world stage.
“Who will be the first patriotic Democrat in Congress to state the obvious and – for the good of the country – invoke the 25th Amendment,” he challenged.
Tenney tells The Political Insider that there is one Democrat who would consider joining her stance on invoking the 25th amendment against Biden – “(Representative) Dean Phillips.”
Phillips, who represents Minnesota’s third district and is a longshot Democratic presidential candidate, responded to the special counsel report calling it “another sad day for America.”
While not referencing the 25th amendment, Phillips insists President Biden can not be allowed to serve a second term.
“The Report simply affirms what most Americans already know, that the President cannot continue to serve as our Commander-in-Chief beyond his term ending January 20, 2025,” said Phillips.
“Already facing the lowest approval numbers in modern history and losing in each of the key battleground states, this Report has all but handed the 2024 election to Donald Trump if Joe Biden is the Democratic nominee — and I invite fellow Democrats to face the truth,” he continued.
Instead, most are avoiding the discussion while a select few have awkwardly defended the President. Andrew Weinstein, the Chair of the DNC Lawyer’s Council, gushed over Biden’s record despite his obvious mental handicaps.
“Joe Biden is honest, transparent, empathetic, selfless, patriotic, and arguably the most accomplished first term president in modern American history. That works for me,” he wrote on X.
Weinstein has comments turned off on his X account, a wise move to protect his unwise contentions.
Following a closed-door question-and-answer period with Democratic lawmakers in which Biden made his “green states” comment and described a landmark abortion case as “Roe v. Word,” Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) vociferously defended the Commander-in-Chief.
“He did so well in this discussion with members,” Wild told NBC News. “He’s very sharp, no memory issues, and his only stumbling is when he trips over words consistent with his lifelong speech impediment.”
Ah, good to see the ol’ stutter defense back in play, something Democrats and the media go back to time and again when having to defend Biden’s “gaffes.”
In a 2019 interview with “Axios on HBO,” the President insisted that his verbal mistakes have nothing to do with a speech impediment he overcame as a child.
“Look, the mistakes I make are mistakes. And some people think I still stutter. I don’t think of myself that way.”
Neither should anybody else. 25th amendment. Now.
