Border Patrol Union President Hits Biden Hard For ‘Self-Serving’ Visit To The Southern Border: ‘No Point Visiting Now’
The head of the Border Patrol union slammed President Joe Biden for his “self-serving” visit to the southern border, saying that any effort to assess the crisis is “too little, too late.”
“Unfortunately, a visit by President Biden three years into his term and after repeatedly stating there is no crisis is too little, too late,” writes union president Brandon Judd.
Judd has served as National Border Patrol Council president dating back to Barack Obama’s second term. He accused Biden of failing to tell the truth about doing everything he can to secure the border.
“If that was the truth, and it wasn’t, there would be no point in visiting the border now,” Judd asserts. “But even if he were to put the proper policies in place at this late hour, he’d be doing it only to try to save his Presidency.”
The union chief also smartly pointed out that Biden making an effort to finally take action to secure the border is an election ploy, and his administration would revert to his open-border policies if re-elected.
“Biden is going to the border now solely to try to save himself,” Judd said.
Border Patrol Union Mocks Biden
Aside from the Border Patrol union president eviscerating President Biden for his open border policies and calling his visit to the heart of the crisis “self-serving,” the group itself posted a scathing emoji-filled response to a recent Axios report suggesting that the narrative of a porous border is false.
The outlet recycled a column from October of 2023 that claimed that the open border illegal immigrant crisis in America is little more than a “myth.”
“By using the term ‘open border,’ conservatives are falsely suggesting that anyone can get into the U.S. without much hassle,” they claimed in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “But the southern border is more fortified than it’s ever been.”
The claim by Axios is easily debunked and has been done so by several actual investigative journalists at the border. The Border Patrol union took a slightly different approach in their response.
Namely, in the form of 140 laughing while crying emojis.
Judd Slammed Biden Over Previous Visit To The Border
President Biden made his first visit to the border over a year ago, though it was little more than thinly veiled Kabuki theater as reports showed illegal immigrant camps were cleared out in El Paso, Texas ahead of his visit.
CNN reported at the time that Biden “did not appear to see or meet with migrants, including during a trip to a migrant respite center.”
Judd criticized Biden for visiting in January of that year intentionally knowing that a seasonal ebb would show the massive number of illegal immigrants in the area would have dropped slightly.
“Border security should never be about politics, it should always be about the safety and security of this great nation and the American people,” Judd now says.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign also hammered Biden for “chasing” him to the border, as both he and Biden will be visiting on Thursday.
“Biden’s last-minute, insincere attempt to chase President Trump to the border won’t cut it,” Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign Press Secretary, wrote in a statement. “Americans know Biden is single-handedly responsible for the worst immigration crisis in history and the ensuing Biden Migrant Crime Crisis affecting every community in our Country.”
Back in 2017, Judd said that the drop in illegal immigration in Trump’s first year was nothing short of “miraculous.”
It’ll take Trump and a miracle to fix the crisis again this time around.
