Anti-Israel Protesters Shut Down Congressional Cafeteria, Shout ‘Senate Can’t Eat Until Gaza Eats’
Over 50 protesters were arrested on Tuesday after storming a cafeteria inside the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Some of those involved in the protest can be heard chanting that the “Senate can’t eat until Gaza eats!”
Fox News host Harris Faulkner describes the location that protesters clamped down on as the “largest cafeteria on the Senate side” of the Capitol complex.
Various demonstrators can be seen with their hands painted pink and shouting alternately, “Children are starving in Gaza” and “People are dying in Gaza.”
Capitol police reportedly advised that arrests would be made. This prompted one of the Senate protesters to reply, “This is the house of the people!”

Senate Protesters Interrupted Senate Hearing
Reports have linked these protesters who shut down a Senate cafeteria to the same group that repeatedly interrupted a Senate hearing with leaders from the Pentagon on Tuesday.
These protesters interrupted the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Capitol Hill twice. They were demanding the U.S. “stop funding Israel” and supporting a “genocide” in Gaza.
US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said there is 'no evidence' of Israel committing genocide in Gaza, after he was repeatedly interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters during a Senate hearing
The message coming from these protesters is that Israel is committing ‘genocide.’ Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, however, testified at the Senate hearing that, “We don’t have any evidence of genocide.”

Capitol Police issued a statement reminding protesters in the Senate that, “It is illegal to demonstrate inside any of the Congressional Buildings.”
Not The First Interruption Of Official Proceedings
Critics note this isn’t the first time protesters have interrupted official congressional proceedings. This is the crux of all media arguments when they discuss ‘insurrection’ at the Capitol.
In March, over a dozen pro-Palestinian demonstrators were arrested at the Russell Senate Office Building.
One month earlier, several protesters inside the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building were arrested. The group of activists had been staging a “die-in.”
Anti-Israel protesters additionally took action this past October when rallygoers, goaded by Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MN), stormed the Cannon building, interrupting an official proceeding in the House.

Additionally in November, six police officers were injured when pro-Palestinian protesters stormed the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
